Dancing Under the Stars

August 2nd and 3rd ONLY!

At the height of midsummer, the Publick will a gala fundraising event entitled Dancing Under the Stars. The Publick Theatre invites you to come swing dance (and salsa and maybe even two-step) to live orchestras on its newly re-built stage. Between sets, sip champagne and enjoy some of Boston's best cabaret singers. Dancing Under the Stars will run August 2nd and 3rd only.

The Soft Touch Dance Band - Live (August 3rd only)

The Soft Touch Dance Band is a Waltham-based eighteen-piece 'Big Band' directed by Kurt Thaller and featuring singer Cynthia Cobb Sullivan.

The band was founded in 1980 and plays at fundraisers, reunions, anniversaries, and summer concert series, among others. The members are unpaid and performance charges are used to provide scholarships for musically-talented college students. To date, the band has disbursed more than $100,000 in financial aid.

We play music from the '40s and '50s as well as many of the modern favorites. We specialize in making yesterday's hits a contemporary musical experience.

An audio-tape is available and we welcome auditions at our rehearsal hall in Waltham or at a local performance.
