Publick Theatre Boston seeks an immediate placement for a Technical Director, to coordinate site preparation and as-needed oversight of its outdoor theater facilities for its 2008 Summer Repertory Series.

Under the oversight of the Publick's Artistic Director, and in conjunction with the Operations, Design, and Production team, the Technical Director will coordinate the pre-seasonal preparation of its outdoor amphitheater site, located on the banks of the Charles River in Brighton's Christian Herter Park, for our two show-summer repertory season, from July to mid-September.

Upon the completion of site preparation, and the opening of the season, the Technical Director will serve on in a secondary capacity, to assure and maintain the safety and soundness of stage and production facilities within the amphitheater, as needed for the duration of the season.

The position will require various hands-on skills, including general carpentry and electrical work to perform repairs and adjustments to stage and backstage areas, as well as other production tasks, including preparation and installation of set pieces and coordination of other key tasks between the design, production, and technical team members.

Candidates must be organized, energetic and motivated, and possess strong technical, carpentry and organizational skills. Previous technical and/or production experience working with outdoor productions strongly desired.
