The contrasting memories of an itinerant Irish healer, his enduring wife, and business manager pose searing questions about the power of art to simultaneously deceive and inspire, to ruin and to heal.
As Frank Hardy works the village guild hall circuit throughout Britain, his mysterious but sporadic power to cure the infirm provokes him to question his own true nature. Is he blessed, a con man, or perhaps both?
A series of separate, interconnected monologues contrast Frank’s memories against the resentments of his wife, Grace, and the colorful recollections of his long-time manager Teddy. Together they tell a deeply hypnotic tale of a charismatic man's power to both sustain and destroy the lives around him. |
