Google Analytics is an important tool to help you determine which facebook ads are working and which aren’t. Just like you would track your website’s traffic with Google Analytics, you can also track your Facebook ad campaigns using Google’s powerful tool. To set up Google Analytics for your campaigns, you need to define goals in GA. For instance, if you want to know how many signups or conversions resulted from a campaign, then define that as a goal in GA under Conversions > Goals > Overview. There are several different types of goals available depending on what kind of data you want to collect.
The Facebook Pixel is a snippet of code that allows you to gather information about your audience, their actions, and how they use your website or app. That data then helps you retarget them with specific advertisements based on their online activity. A good example of a business that uses retargeting well is HubSpot. If you’ve ever looked at or filled out any type of form on their site, they’ll follow up via social media ads—but only if you’re not already one of their customers. Because they want to turn all visitors into customers. Simple right? But in order to do so, they need to collect data about who visits their site in order to do that effectively.
